We are delighted to announce that we are holding a Tree Trail Open Event on Monday 22nd July, 4 to 6.30pm at Cheney School.
We are privileged to be joined by author Julia Golding for a talk and booksigning between 4 and 4.30pm.
The event will be open for the whole community to explore our beautiful trees, see our brand new tree trail signs, take part in a range of stalls and activities and follow our trail maps! All ages are warmly welcome and refreshments will be available. There will be storytelling workshops running during the event.
The Cheney Tree Trail was first created in 2021 by the Year Eight Museum Council, and since then several other groups of students have added to the trail, as well as a range of staff and even some celebrities adding their voices to the trees!
The event will celebrate the installation of the six new signs, funded by the Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment & Grundon Recycling. The wording of the signs was written by the 8* Museum Council last term. The students chose six more of our trees to make signs for: crabapple, ash, oak, redwood, pine and plane.
If you would like to attend, please fill in this form to book places. The whole event is free and all ages are welcome.
